Hi, I’m Monika, a newborn photographer based in Great Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. I photograph babies with their parents, siblings and pets in the comfort of their own homes. Because I live here too, local sessions feel especially close to my heart.
There is no studio setup and no need to take a new baby out for the day. I come to you and use the window light, rooms and details already present in your home. The result is a personal record of this chapter in the place where your family is most comfortable.
Your home is already a beautiful setting
Many parents wonder whether their home is light enough, spacious enough or tidy enough for photographs. You do not need a picture perfect house. If you have a window, we can create beautiful images there.
Whether you live in a cosy flat or a spacious house, my focus is your connection. A bedroom, sofa, nursery or small patch of window light can be all we need. When I arrive, we will take a quick look around together and choose the places that feel best.
Your home also adds meaning that a studio cannot copy. The nursery you prepared, the sofa where you cuddle and the family dog resting nearby all become part of your baby’s story.
A calm session shaped around your baby
Newborn sessions are unhurried and led by your baby’s needs. There is time for feeding, changing, settling and cuddles. Nothing has to happen on a strict schedule, and your baby does not need to stay asleep.
I will gently guide you into flattering light and natural positions without forcing your baby into poses. We can photograph your newborn alone and with parents, siblings or pets. Quiet portraits matter, but so do yawns, stretches, little expressions and the way your family naturally responds to one another.
When should you arrange your newborn photoshoot?
You can contact me during pregnancy so we can plan ahead, then confirm the session date after your baby arrives. If your baby is already here, it is still worth getting in touch. Newborn photographs do not have to be taken within a tiny window. Every stage brings something special, from sleepy early days to growing eye contact and expressions.
